LocalNepal is the culmination of my Final Year Project (FYP), developed as part of my academic journey. The project aims to address the need for a reliable platform that enhances tourists' experiences in Nepal while providing opportunities for local guides to showcase their expertise and earn income.

The main motive behind LocalNepal is to bridge the gap between travelers seeking authentic and personalized experiences and local guides who possess in-depth knowledge of Nepal's culture, history, and attractions. By facilitating direct connections between tourists and guides, LocalNepal aims to create memorable travel experiences while supporting the local tourism industry.

LocalNepal offers a wide range of features to enhance the user experience for both tourists and local guides. Here are some key features included in the platform:

  • User Registration and Authentication: Tourists and guides have separate registration processes, allowing users to create and manage their profiles securely.
  • User Profiles: Users can create detailed profiles, including certifications, expertise, languages spoken, and availability.
  • Search and Filter Functionalities: Tourists can search for guides based on various criteria such as language, expertise, and location, and filter results accordingly.
  • Booking System: Tourists can view guide availability on a calendar, book guides for specific dates and times, and receive confirmation notifications upon successful bookings.
  • Messaging System: Tourists and guides can communicate with each other via a messaging system to discuss tour details and make arrangements.
  • Review and Rating System: Tourists can leave reviews and ratings for guides after completing a tour, and average ratings and reviews are displayed on guide profiles.
  • Payment Gateway Integration: Secure payment gateways such as Stripe and Khalti API are integrated for seamless and secure transactions.
  • Admin Panel: Admins have full access to user accounts and guide profiles, and can manage user accounts, verify guides, moderate reviews and ratings, view transaction history, and generate reports.
